22/06/10	Powys Class Cancellations	Unfortunately classes at the Llandrindod Well Sports Centre in Powys on Wednesday 30th June and Wednesday 7th July are cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
16/06/10	Insurance Cover	Please bear in mind that if you train at clubs or with instructors other than those listed on the Insurance page, you must confirm with the Club Instructor what Insurance is in place for you. You BAB Insurance ONLY covers you if you are in a listed dojo, with a listed instructor and you are training with members that also hold BAB PA insurance (see Insurance page for details), if this is not the case it is your responsibility to confirm the Instructor has arranged alternative insurance that suitably covers you.
16/06/10	Goryukan Heath Dojo - Sensei Jonz Wale	The Gorykan Heath dojo run by Sensei Jonz Wale has become an independent Yoshinkan dojo named Mushin Juku Dojo and has left membership of Goryukai, therefore effectively leaving membership of the British Aikido Board (BAB) via Goryukai/Kenshinkai. This means that the dojo in no longer holding Public Liability, Personal Accident and Professional Indemnity insurance from the BAB. The dojo will source it's own insurance independent of the BAB. We wish Jonz and his members the best of luck with their new dojo and upcoming seminar.

If you wish to get involved with discussions about training, advertising, seminars, social events etc. please register for the Kenshinkai Discussion Forum. Only members of Kenshinkai are permitted to read or reply to discussions in this Forum. The look and feel of the forum is pretty basic at this time as it is only a free trial version. Should this be a popular means of communication between Kenshinkai members we shall provide a more professional easy to use discussion forum.

31/01/10	Kenshinkai Discussion Forum Available	A beta discussion forum is now available for members of Kenshinkai only. This is a trial discussion forum, which if popular and used regularly by the members will be converted into a permanent discussion forum. Please bear in mind that as this is a free trial, the discussion forum layout is limited and contains advertising. Should this be a popular idea, we shall introduce a more professional, easy to use, forum. So use it or lose it! You need to register by clicking the register link at the top of the page. Please ensure you provide an email that is recognisable by the secretary of Kenshinkai to identify you as a Kenshinkai member, if you are unsure whether the secretary has your email address please send an email to ksk@kenshinkai.org.uk containing your name to confirm your identity and email address. 14/01/10	Later start time of 8.30pm for Highbury College class on Wednesday evenings.	To assist Highbury College we have put back the start time of the Wednesday evening class at Highbury College from 8.00pm to 8.30pm effective immediately. This will mean that the class will now finish at 10.00pm instead of 9.30pm. We are hoping in the near future to return to our original start time.

27/10/09	Meidokan Intensive Training Day	The Meidokan Yoshinkan Aikido Association run by David Rubens Sensei, is holding an Intensive Training Day on Sunday 29th November 2009. Please note that the Kenshinkai senior class at ALNS is cancelled on this day due to a junior kyu grading.
27/10/09	Instructors Page Updated	Members who hold BAB Coach Level 1, First Aid and have been CRB checked and are therefore permitted to assist with teaching, when a fully qualified instructor is present, are now visible on the Instructors page in the Assist Only section.
21/10/09	FREE Introduction to Shinkendo Seminar	Byron Shepherd Sensei will be teaching an Introduction to Shinkendo Seminar on Sunday 22nd November. The seminar is FREE and open to all Kenshinkai members 5th Kyu and above and invited guests. 10.00am to 12.00pm 5th Kyu and above. 12.00pm to 1.00pm Dan Grades only. Just bring along a bokken if you have one, some will be available to borrow on the day. Make sure you register for a place if you intend to participate as places are limited to a maximum of 30.
21/10/09	Hampshire Kyu Grading Cancelled	Due to a lack of members that are ready to take their next kyu grading, the kyu Grading scheduled for Sunday 22nd November has been cancelled, and in its place there will be a FREE introduction to Shinkendo seminar. Only one student is currently ready to grade, and that student will be graded at a regular session before the christmas break.

01/09/09	Daniel Burton, Irene Horsted and Jessica Pratt obtain BAB Coach Level 1 qualification	This is to inform you that as of 1st September 2009, Daniel Burton, Irene Horsted and Jessica Pratt are now insured to teach or assist with teaching when a Ken Shin Kai Instructor is present. Dan, Irene and Jess have recently obtained their BAB Coach Level 1 Certificate are CRB checked and hold First Aid qualifications. Although they are not yet Instructors, this will give them an opportunity to teach and assist with teaching at classes.

20/08/09	Highbury College Class (Wednesday Evening)	Classes will resume at Highbury College in the new sports hall on Wednesday 2nd September. Park in the second new car park on the left, and head for the new Sports Centre. Make sure that you get changed first, and then wait outside the Sports Hall until the previous booking finishes at 8.00pm. Due to putting the mats out 15 minutes later than usual, we shall finish 15 minutes later than usual at 9.30pm, allowing us until 9.45pm to put the mats away.

16/07/09	New Website Design	The website has had a facelift to make it more attractive and accessible to new members, the previous website contained many links and information that was not of interest to new members and made the website difficult to navigate. The first stage of the rework has been to separate information that is of interest to new members from information that is of interest to existing members. The existing members will see the original website when selecting the members link from the new page. It is planned that the existing members area will also be redesigned to make it easier to navigate and a discussion forum to be added in the future for members use only.

14/07/09	Kiyoyuki Terada Hanshi	We regret to have to inform you that Kiyoyuki Terada Hanshi passed away on the morning of July 13th. The funeral ceremony is to take place on July 17th, following an all night watch. The funeral will take place at Hozoin (Temple) 935 Yoshida-cho, Totsuka-ku, Yokohama-Shi, Kanagawa-ken, Japan 244-0817. Our thoughts are with Mrs Takako Terada at this very sad time.

04/02/09	Important Insurance Notes Added To Insurance Page	Your BAB Personal Accident (PA) member-to-member insurance is only valid when you are training with someone who also holds BAB (PA) insurance. You are only covered by injury from an Instructor if that instructor holds BAB or BAB recognised Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance.
